Melanographer

Our Skin Cancer practice is seeking a motivated and experienced Melanographer to join our growing team.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform total body photography and sequential digital dermoscopy (melanography) to establish comprehensive baseline images and track changes over time.
  • Operate and maintain specialized imaging equipment, ensuring high-quality and consistent photographic standards.
  • Work closely with Skin cancer doctors and the clinical team in achieving accurate skin cancer diagnosis, prioritise appointments, and manage the melanography schedule efficiently.
  • Ensure accurate labeling, filing, and retrieval of all digital images and patient data.
  • Educate patients on the purpose and process of melanography, ensuring their comfort and compliance during the procedure.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient medical records, including comprehensive melanography documentation and reporting.
  • Adhere strictly to all privacy protocols, safety guidelines, and infection control standards.

Qualifications:

  • Advanced Certificate in Dermoscopy or Diploma in Dermoscopy.
  • Formal training or certification as a Melanographer is essential.
  • Qualification as an RN (Registered Nurse) is an added advantage for this position.
  • Minimum of 2 years of proven experience performing total body photography and sequential digital dermoscopy, preferably in a skin cancer or dermatology setting.
  • Exceptional knowledge of the principles of skin cancer screening and early detection.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in using relevant imaging software and equipment.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail, critical for reliable skin surveillance.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient education skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
