Surgical Registered Nurse

Our Skin cancer practice is seeking a motivated and experienced Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) to join our growing team, to work on a causal, part-time or full-time basis.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive; pre, intra, and post-operative care to all patients who have had surgical procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with Skin cancer doctors to ensure a smooth and efficient surgical procedure experience.
  • Scrub and participate in sterile procedures, confidently assisting Skin cancer doctors with instruments and supplies.
  • Demonstrate exceptional knowledge of aseptic technique and sterile field maintenance.
  • Assess and manage wounds using advanced dressing techniques to promote optimal healing.
  • Educate patients and families about pre and post-operative care procedures.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient medical records.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and infection control guidelines.

Qualifications:

  • Current Registration as a Registered Nurse (RN) with the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Council (ANMC) and current membership with the Australian Nurses Association (ANA).
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of proven experience in a surgical setting.
  • Strong understanding of surgical procedures and aseptic techniques.
  • Demonstrated expertise in advanced wound care and dressing techniques.
  • Excellent communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
